Ruben Amorim says his current side are the "worst team" in Manchester United's entire history.
Man Utd lost 3-1 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, leaving them 13th in the Premier League table, with 26 points. Last month Amorim said United are in a relegation battle.

Sunday's loss was their sixth home Premier League defeat of the season, their most from their opening 12 home matches of a league season since 1893/94, while they have lost 10 of their 22 Premier League games this season, the earliest into a league campaign that they have hit double figures for defeats since 1989/90 under Sir Alex Ferguson
"In 10 games in the Premier League, we won two," said Amorim.
"Imagine what this is for a fan of Manchester United. Imagine what this is for me. So we are getting a new coach that is losing more than the last coach. I have full knowledge of that.
"Like I said, I'm not going to change, no matter what. I know we can succeed, but we need to survive this moment. Because I'm not naive and I know that we need to survive now.
"We are being the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United. I know that you want headlines, but I'm saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. Here you go, your headlines."
Currently sat in 13th place, United are on course to record their lowest finish ever, with their worst finish coming last season when they came eighth.
Amorim: Man Utd are going to suffer
Amorim has also apologised to Man Utd fans, saying they are going to have to suffer because it could take a long time to improve things.
"Another loss at home - it's not acceptable," Amorim told Sky Sports.
"We got really anxious and nervous. They [Brighton] were better... We need to be a different team in all aspects.
"It's clear [that it's going to take a while to change things]. I'm not going to change the way I see the game. I'm very clear on that. The players are going to suffer. I'm really sorry, the fans are going to suffer. I have one way of doing things. We need to survive this moment."
Hargreaves: Players don’t suit Amorim
Former Man Utd midfielder Owen Hargreaves gave a frank assessment of Amorim’s side’s performance and said the players appear confused.
“They [United] never looked like scoring,” he said
“They scored from a penalty, that was it. Brighton had one disallowed, scored three and had numerous chances outside of that. Everybody is giving United trouble.
“I mean, Southampton are last place with six points from 60 and could have got something. So when you think you’re going to play Newcastle, Bournemouth…you’re going to get punished. And I think that’s the worry for Amorim.
“He’s come in and said, ‘Look, I’m going to play this way.’ You’d have to say it doesn’t suit the players that they have right now. It’s not just about playing your way, which is fine. You have got to find a way to get results. That’s it.
“I don’t think it’s an attitude thing. I think the boys are trying.
“They probably are confused because they’re trying to do what the manager wants and they’re going to do it because if they don’t, they’re not going to play.”
