Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Julio Enciso has completed a loan move to Ipswich Town for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old, whose birthday is today, becomes Ipswich’s third signing of the transfer window, following Ben Godfrey’s loan arrival from Atalanta and the permanent acquisition of Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa.

Ipswich have said on their club website that he could be involved in Saturday's trip to Liverpool.

What did he have to say?

“The conversations with the Manager have been good. I am very grateful to him and the Club for believing in me. I can’t wait to get going,” Enciso said.

“I’m a real fighter and I will do my best in every game.”

Who is Julio Enciso?

Enciso joined Brighton from Paraguayan side Club Libertad in 2022 and made an instant impact during the 2022/23 season.

He scored four goals and registered two assists in 20 league appearances for the Seagulls, including two stunning long-range strikes against Chelsea and Manchester City.

His incredible effort against Pep Guardiola’s side was voted the Premier League Goal of the Season and earned him a nomination for the FIFA Puskas Award.

This season, Enciso has found first-team opportunities limited at Brighton, making just 12 league appearances, only two of which were starts.

Primarily an attacking midfielder who thrives in the No 10 role, Enciso is also capable of playing out wide.

On the international stage, he has earned 23 caps for Paraguay, scoring twice.
