This Saturday marks the latest edition of Non-League Day.
It is a weekend where, with no fixtures in the Premier League, we encourage fans to show their support for grassroots football by going to see a non-league team in action.
The connections between the Premier League and non-league football are greater than you would think, with more than 40 of the players in 2024/25 Premier League squads having experience of playing in non-league football. This includes the likes of Jamie Vardy, Ollie Watkins and David Raya.
The Premier League itself has close links with non-league clubs throughout the football pyramid.
Through the Premier League Stadium Fund, clubs have been able to get much-needed finance to redevelop their facilities. This year, Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi visited his old club Cray Wanderers, who were transformed with support from the Premier League.
The Premier League has provided £23.6million over four years to the National League and its 72 clubs. Through the Premier League Stadium Fund, more than £207m in grants has been awarded to over 1,000 men’s and women’s clubs throughout the English Football League, National League and football pyramid.

More on Non-League Day
Non-League Day began in 2010 and has become an annual celebration of the football pyramid.
Coinciding with an international break, Non-League Day provides a platform for clubs to promote the importance of affordable volunteer-led community football while giving fans across the country the chance to show support for, and maybe discover, their local non-league side.
