Ruud van Nistelrooy admitted that is was a "very difficult" night for Leicester City, who slumped to a crushing 3-0 defeat at home to Newcastle United on Monday.

It was the Foxes' 14th loss in their last 15 Premier League matches, and the eighth successive home match in which they had both lost and failed to score - a Premier League record.
In addition, it was Leicester's 11th home league defeat of 2024/25 - the most in a single league campaign in their 141-year history.
'Very difficult'
Speaking after Monday's nights loss, which leaves Leicester 15 points adrift of 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, Van Nistelrooy said: "It was very difficult, especially after 33 minutes you've lost another game.
"A very early goal, another one quick and after 33 minutes you're 3-0 down and it's another game gone. It's very disappointing and worrying.
"What is worrying is the run of form, the lack of goals, the lack of results we can't produce. Trying different things, different structures, different players in different positions and the results are not there.
"It's a big challenge. We all know the run of form we're in. It's extremely difficult. Especially if there aren't light points to build on. It's important to analyse this and sleep on it and recover. That is it for now."
Monga's introduction a positive
One bright note on an otherwise disappointing night for Van Nistelrooy was the second-half introduction of teenage prospect Jeremy Monga, who at the age of 15 years, 271 days, became the second-youngest ever player in the Premier League after Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri.
"You could see glimpses of his great qualities," said Van Nistelrooy. "He's a great winger and has speed. He's a fantastic talent, a great boy. He deserved these minutes and hopefully, more to come."
Leicester are next in action on Saturday when they visit Brighton & Hove Albion before facing Liverpool eight days later, and their return to the Championship could be official after those two matches.
