Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer hopes his players will put his plans into action when they face Liverpool in the Premier League Asia Trophy on Wednesday.
De Boer oversaw a 3-1 victory at Maidstone United in his first pre-season outing on Saturday. But as he prepares to take on a top-flight rival for the first time, he wants to see evidence that his squad is embracing his methods.
“It’s a test for the ideas that you’ve tried to put across, and doing what we’ve trained on for the past two and a half weeks,” he says of the Hong Kong tournament.
“If we implement the ideas that I want us to play [with] this season then hopefully then we can look up [the table] rather than down."
