Marco Silva is aiming to build another formidable home record at Vicarage Road as he prepares to start his Watford tenure against Liverpool.
The 40-year-old went 41 matches without suffering a home defeat – working with four different clubs in the process – before his Hull City side were defeated by Sunderland in May.
Now Silva wants to immediately begin turning Vicarage Road into a fortress as Liverpool head south for Saturday’s Premier League opener (12:30 BST).
"I believe it’s the best way [to start the season] because we start to play at home, and for us it’s really important to start a big connection between us and our fans,” Silva told watfordfc.com.
“You need to show something special in every match at home, in our stadium, to start to build something special.”
