Peter Crouch scored from a defensive mistake as Stoke City ended West Bromwich Albion’s perfect start to the Premier League season with a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.
Jay Rodriguez had opened the scoring for West Brom on 61 minutes, stooping low to head in Allan Nyom’s cross.
But Stoke responded and substitute Crouch was gifted a simple headed goal when Ahmed Hegazi sliced an attempted clearance as his goalkeeper, Ben Foster, also tried to claim it.
The draw leaves West Brom with seven points from their opening three matches, while Mark Hughes’s Stoke have four points from their three outings.
