Brahim Diaz scored twice as Manchester City earned a comeback 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland despite playing nearly all the Division 1 match with 10 men.

Charlie Oliver was sent off in the fourth minute after bringing down Duncan Watmore in the penalty area. Watmore scored the resulting spot-kick.

City levelled when Diaz scored a penalty of his own, before Ethan Robson restored the visitors' lead in first-half stoppage-time.

But the hosts fought back again and Diaz made it 2-2 with a brilliant curling strike just after the hour mark.

City are 10th in Division 1 and next visit Swansea City on Friday 22 September. Sunderland, in seventh, host West Ham United two days later.
