Max Sanders and Steven Alzate scored twice each as Brighton & Hove Albion secured a 5-0 win over Sunderland in their first Premier League Cup Group H match.

Sanders netted his first after 19 minutes and the midfielder doubled the lead with his second four minutes later at Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground.

Alzate made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time and was on target four minutes after the break.

James Tilley finished off a fine counter attack for the Seagulls to cap a dominant display.

Sunderland's next PL Cup match is against Exeter City on Thursday 2 November and Brighton face Hull City the following day.
