Huddersfield Town recorded their first back-to-back home wins in the Premier League thanks to Rajiv van La Parra’s stunning long-range strike.
Tom Ince looked the biggest threat for the hosts but it was Van La Parra who secured the breakthrough, curling a 25-yard shot into the top corner just before half-time.
Huddersfield had to defend their lead without Christopher Schindler, who was sent off in the 57th minute, and their goalkeeper Jonas Lossl made two fine late saves as West Bromwich Albion pushed for a leveller.
But Huddersfield held on to climb to 10th, while West Brom remain 15th after nine winless matches two points above the relegation zone.
