Alan Pardew’s first match in charge of West Bromwich Albion ended in a goalless draw with Crystal Palace.
West Brom made a bright start at The Hawthorns, with Hal Robson-Kanu shooting over before Jay Rodriguez missed with a header.
Christian Benteke almost scored for Palace but was thwarted by Ben Foster and saw another shot deflect narrowly wide.
Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni denied Rodriguez and made a fingertip save for Salomon Rondon’s long-range strike.
Rondon grazed a post with a shot late on, as the draw kept Pardew’s side three points above Palace, who remain in the relegation zone.
