David Silva (£8.2m) is back in contention for Manchester City and Fantasy Premier League managers for Gameweek 16.

The Spaniard has been passed fit for the derby with Manchester United after recovering from the knock that made him miss Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk.

Over 100,000 FPL managers had sold Silva ahead of tomorrow’s 11.30 am GMT deadline, but Pep Guardiola confirmed his playmaker was fit to maintain his pivotal role in away matches this season.

Still part of 14.9% of squads, Silva has fired more shots (18) and created more chances (17) on the road than any City team-mate.

Jones boost for United

While City welcome back one key midfielder, United will be without one of their own as Paul Pogba (£8.0m) begins a three-match suspension after his dismissal against Arsenal in Gameweek 15.

As a result, Pogba has suffered more sales (257,000+) than any other player this week.

But the return of Phil Jones (£5.3m) to the United defence is good news for Jose Mourinho and FPL managers.

The United backline have kept six clean sheets from seven matches at Old Trafford, although they have just one shutout in their four matches without Jones.

Spurs' change of shape?

Absences in defence could force Tottenham Hotspur to change formation, which might benefit Son Heung-min (£7.9m).

With Davinson Sanchez (£6.0m) suspended and Toby Alderweireld (£5.9m) out with a hamstring problem, manager Mauricio Pochettino may revert to a back four.

If so, Kieran Trippier (£5.6m) and Ben Davies (£5.6m) look set to return as full-backs having missed Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League tie with APOEL Nicosia.

A 4-2-3-1 formation for Spurs could hand another start to Son, who is owned by just 1.6% of FPL managers and has figured in each of the last six home fixtures. He also scored in the midweek European victory at Wembley.

Richarlison to profit?

Burnley have concerns over two of their first-choice defenders for the visit of Watford.

Ben Mee (£4.8m) and Matt Lowton (£4.7m) are injury doubts for Sean Dyche’s side, who are among the most resilient at home, conceding just three goals.

Watford's Richarlison (£6.6m) could benefit if the pair miss out. The Brazilian has scored or assisted in six of his seven away matches, yet has been sold by over 48,000 FPL managers ahead of Saturday’s fixture.

Chicharito back in contention

West Ham United strikers Chicharito (£6.7m) and Andy Carroll (£5.9m) are both back in training ahead of the visit of Chelsea.

Chicharito’s return to fitness coincides with an improving schedule for the Hammers.

Between Gameweeks 18-27, nine of their 10 matches score just two in the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR).

But should he return on Saturday, the Mexican will face a resilient Chelsea defence, who have conceded just two goals from their last six Gameweeks.

Christensen continues

David Luiz (£5.8m) will again be absent from their defence, opening the way for Andreas Christensen (£5.5m) to earn a sixth consecutive start.

The Dane has been signed by another 26,000 managers ahead of Saturday's early kick-off, having increased his ownership by over 127,000 over the past four Gameweeks.
