With the second Fantasy Premier League Wildcard available, The Scout reviews the top targets to consider for the chip.

Phil Jones (MUN) £5.7m

The second-most popular defensive signing heading into Gameweek 23, Jones's return from injury has revived the Manchester United backline and it can do the same to FPL managers' hopes.

Almost 90,000 managers have brought in the defender ahead of the 14:00 GMT deadline on 13 January.

While Jones was absent from Man Utd between Gameweeks 12-16, Jose Mourinho’s defence conceded 1.2 goals and 2.4 big chances per match (a big chance is where the attacker is expected to score).

With Jones back in the team over the last six Gameweeks, the United defence has tightened up.

During that period United have conceded on average 0.8 goals per match, allowing an average of just 1.2 big chances per 90 minutes.
