Luke Charman, Newcastle United v Aston Villa, PL2

Newcastle United ended the Premier League 2 Division 2 title hopes of Aston Villa with a 2-0 win at St James' Park, meaning Blackburn Rovers have been crowned champions.

Luke Charman (pictured) opened the scoring for Newcastle in the seventh minute with a stunning curling effort past Matija Sarkic in the Villa goal.

Sarkic could do little to prevent Newcastle doubling their lead on 67 minutes when Charman set up Jack Hunter at the edge of the area.

Despite a second consecutive win, Newcastle remain 11th on 20 points.

Villa are second on 42 points, four points behind Blackburn with only one match left to play.
