Chelsea gave their top-four hopes a major boost with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool.
The visiting side edged the opening half-hour with Thibaut Courtois denying Sadio Mane twice.
But it was Chelsea who took the lead. Olivier Giroud headed in Victor Moses’s cross on 32 minutes.
Liverpool struggled to create chances after the break with Mohamed Salah unable to score a record 32nd Premier League goal.
The victory sent Chelsea within two points of Tottenham Hotspur and fourth place, and within three of Liverpool, over whom they have a match in hand.
