Everton have announced the signing of Swansea City captain and defender Ashley Williams on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old, who led Wales to the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2016, moves to Goodison Park after eight seasons at Swansea City.
"I've had eight great years at Swansea and, for me, the new challenge was something I felt I needed, so I’m delighted to have joined Everton," Williams told evertonfc.com.
"Everton is a great club with an unbelievable manager - a world legend in football - and I believe the Club is going in the right direction. This is something I wanted to be a part of."
Since joining from Stockport County, Williams helped Swansea rise from League One into the Premier League for the 2011/12 season as a stalwart in the Welsh side's defence.
In the past five seasons, he has made 181 PL appearances, with 52 clean sheets and four goals.
"I wish everyone at Swansea all the best for the future and they will always hold a special place in my heart," Williams added.
He is the third senior signing made by new Everton manager Ronald Koeman this summer after Maarten Stekelenburg and Idrissa Gana Gueye.
Williams is in contention for the Toffees' opening match of the 2016/17 Premier League season, at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, 13 August.
