2012: Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal

Robin van Persie’s stoppage-time goal sealed victory for Arsenal that left Liverpool 10 points behind the Premier League top four.

Liverpool took the lead through a Laurent Koscielny own goal but Arsenal quickly levelled when Van Persie headed beyond Pepe Reina.

The Dutch striker volleyed home Alex Song’s pass from a narrow angle for the winner.

The defeat left Liverpool seventh on 39 points, while Arsenal were fourth on 49 points.

2013: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Arsenal

Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon scored almost carbon-copy goals in two first-half minutes as Tottenham Hotspur came out victorious in the north London derby.

Bale’s goal was his ninth in seven matches before Per Mertesacker scored a second-half consolation for Arsenal.

The win left Spurs third in the league on 54 points, seven ahead of Arsenal, who were fifth.
