2002: Ipswich Town 0-6 Liverpool
Liverpool’s title challenge gained momentum with a comprehensive victory away against in-form Ipswich Town.
Ipswich had won their four previous Premier League matches but were hit for six at Portman Road.
Liverpool's January signing Abel Xavier opened the scoring, and Emile Heskey and Michael Owen both struck twice, while Sami Hyypia was also on target.
The boost to the Reds' goal difference took them above Newcastle United into second place, with both sides lying two points behind leaders Manchester United.
Ipswich dropped to 13th on 30 points, leaving them five points outside the bottom three.
2013: Southampton 3-1 Manchester City
Manchester City lost further ground in their title defence as Mauricio Pochettino earned his first win as Southampton manager, overseeing a 3-1 victory on the south coast.
Jason Puncheon and Steven Davis put the Saints 2-0 up inside the opening 22 minutes. And, although Edin Dzeko hit back for the visitors, Gareth Barry's own goal restored Southampton's two-goal cushion shortly after half-time.
With leaders Manchester United beating Everton later in the weekend, second-placed Man City found themselves 12 points off the top.
Southampton climbed to 15th, four points outside the bottom three at the end of the weekend.
