1997: Ince signs for Liverpool
After two seasons in Italy with Inter Milan, Paul Ince returned to England to sign for Liverpool.
The England midfielder, who won the 1992/93 and 1993/94 titles with Manchester United, scored 14 goals in 65 appearances for the Merseyside club before joining Middlesbrough two seasons later.
The former West Ham United player spent three seasons with Boro before a final season in the Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2003/04.
Ince also enjoyed a brief spell as a Premier League manager with Blackburn Rovers in 2008/09, becoming the first black British manager to take charge of a team in England’s top division.
2014: Sanchez swaps Barcelona for Arsenal
Arsenal completed the transfer of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.
The Chile international, who had scored a career high 21 goals in all competitions in the previous season at the Nou Camp, proved a successful signing for the Gunners.
He spent three and a half seasons with the north Londoners, scoring 60 Premier League goals and helping Arsenal finish second in the 2015/16 campaign.
Sanchez also won the FA Cup twice with Arsenal, scoring in both finals.
In January 2018, he made the switch from Arsenal to Manchester United, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction.
