1997: Tore Andre Flo signs for Chelsea
Tore Andre Flo joined Chelsea from Norwegian club Brann.
The striker scored on his debut against Coventry City and went on to net 11 goals in 34 Premier League matches during his first season, including a hat-trick in a 6-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur.
In total Flo struck 34 goals in 112 PL matches for Chelsea, while contributing another 11 assists.
He won the League Cup, UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and FA Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge, before moving on to Glasgow Rangers in November 2000.
2012: Ron Vlaar joins Aston Villa
Netherlands international Ron Vlaar signed for Aston Villa from Feyenoord.
The centre-back was given the captaincy early on in his first season and was a key part of Paul Lambert’s side as they avoided relegation in the 2012/13 campaign.
Vlaar spent three seasons with Aston Villa, making 79 Premier League appearances and playing in an FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal - his last match for the club.
