Steven Defour is excited to experience the “fantastic atmosphere” of the Premier League after becoming Burnley’s club-record signing.
The 28-year-old Belgium midfielder agreed a three-year contract at Turf Moor after sealing his switch from Anderlecht in his home country.
Defour, who has been capped 46 times by Belgium and has also won league titles with Standard Liege and Porto, is relishing the chance to prove himself in England.

“I hope I can bring my experience to the team and the club to stay in the Premier League,” he told burnleyfootballclub.com.
“I’m looking forward to every game. The atmosphere around the league is fantastic and everyone across the world has seen the Premier League, so I am very proud to be a part of that.”
Defour will wear the number 16 shirt at Burnley and will hope to feature against Liverpool at Turf Moor on Saturday 20 August.
The midfielder is the promoted club’s fourth senior signing this summer, after Liverpool loanee Jon Flanagan and Charlton Athletic’s Nick Pope and Johann Berg Gudmundsson.
