2009: Hull City 1-3 Manchester United

Manchester United maintained the pressure on league leaders Chelsea as they won away at Hull City.

The visitors went ahead through Wayne Rooney on the stroke of half-time and, although Craig Fagan equalised with a penalty, Andy Dawson’s own goal restored Man Utd’s lead. Dimitar Berbatov then put the result beyond doubt.

Second-placed United moved to 44 points, just one point behind Chelsea. At the other end of the table,  Hull dropped to 19th on 18 points, lying inside the relegation zone on goal difference.
