2008: Aaron Ramsey joins Arsenal
Arsenal completed the signing of 17-year-old Aaron Ramsey from Cardiff City.
Fourteen months earlier, Ramsey became Cardiff’s youngest player ever, and he went on to play for Wales Under-21s and help the Bluebirds reach the FA Cup final in 2007/08.
Ramsey made nine Premier League appearances in his debut season at Arsenal.
He established himself as a regular for Arsene Wenger’s team from 2011/12, and was named Arsenal’s Player of the Year in 2013/14, when he scored 10 goals in 23 matches before injury cut his season short.
2012: Roberto Di Matteo confirmed as permanent Chelsea manager
Less than a month after guiding Chelsea to glory in the UEFA Champions League final, Roberto Di Matteo was appointed permanent manager.
The Italian, who made 116 Premier League appearances for Chelsea as a player, took over as interim manager in March 2012 and won the Champions League and FA Cup.
Di Matteo was relieved of his duties five months after his permanent appointment, with Chelsea third in the table.
