1999: Coventry City 3-4 Leeds United

Leeds United overcame two early setbacks to beat Coventry City in a seven-goal cracker.

Gary McAllister put Coventry ahead with a second-minute penalty but Lee Bowyer soon levelled. However, John Aloisi restored the hosts' lead in the 17th minute.

But Darren Huckerby made it 2-2 against his former club and Ian Harte put Leeds in front for the first time with a 33rd-minute spot-kick.

Youssef Chippo brought Coventry back on level terms after the break, but Michael Bridges struck decisively for the visitors on the hour-mark.

Leeds moved up to fourth with 13 points, while Coventry dropped to 17th with five points.

2006: Reading 1-0 Manchester City

Promoted Reading earned their second win of the season thanks to Ivar Ingimarsson’s header against Manchester City.

The Icelander met Bobby Convey’s inswinging free-kick in the 23rd minute, and Man City were reduced to 10 men for the final 10 minutes as Ousmane Dabo was sent off.

Reading moved up to eighth place with six points from four matches. Man City slid to 11th with four points.
