As the days count down to the first match of the season, premierleague.com looks at things new to the competition for 2018/19.
Nike Merlin ball
Kevin De Bruyne. Christian Eriksen. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. These players all seem to have the ball under their spell.
And this season they can take their control to a whole new level.
That's because the new Nike Merlin, the official ball for the 2018/19 Premier League, is the most advanced yet.
Revolutionary design
Where there were once 32 panels to a ball, the Nike Merlin has just four; a world-first.
Fewer panels mean fewer seams, eliminating hard spots and opening the ball up to more sweet spots for players to shoot or pass with greater accuracy.
Nike has also integrated their All Conditions Control (ACC) technology in a football for the first time. This will ensure optimal touch and control in all weather and pitch conditions.
Debossed grooves and 3D inks in the ball will further improve its feel and aerodynamics, helping it move through the air.
Get ready for more skills, goals and moments of magic.
