Burnley have broken their club-record transfer fee for the second time this month, agreeing a deal to sign Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick for an undisclosed fee.
The Republic of Ireland international has agreed a three-year deal to move to Turf Moor as Sean Dyche's seventh summer recruit, with the fee eclipsing that paid for Anderlecht midfielder Steven Defour.
Hendrick, 24, follows the signings of Defour, Jimmy Dunne, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Nick Pope, Jon Flanagan, and Patrick Bamford, who joined from Chelsea on a season-long loan on Tuesday.
The midfielder will wear the No 13 shirt and spoke of Dyche's influence in bringing him to the club.
“We had a chat and I talked to a lot of players who have played under him, such as Jason Shackell, Lee Grant and Chris Baird, and heard nothing but positive things," he told burnleyfootballclub.com.
