He is the most popular player in Fantasy Premier League and a look at the statistics for Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) merely questions why the ownership of the Manchester City striker is not even higher than 52 per cent.

In the latest FPL Show, expert Mark McGettigan says Aguero’s stats when compared with previous campaigns not only show greater game time for the player.

McGettigan also pinpoints a new creative facet to the Argentinian's game that makes him more attractive than big-name rivals for managers' forward lines, such as Harry Kane (£12.4m).

"When it comes to FPL and strikers, it’s not just goals we want, if they can chip in with assists, it is a big bonus," McGettigan says.

"He [Aguero] has got six assists already this season. He got six all of last season. He’s becoming a creator as much as a goalscorer and that really helps when it comes to bonus points."

However, McGettigan does explain in the show that the fixture list suggests managers should consider swapping Aguero for Kane from Gameweek 15 on.
