Sunderland have announced the signing of Victor Anichebe.
The 28-year-old striker was a free agent and has moved to the Stadium of Light on a deal to the end of this season.
Anichebe has played 186 times in the Premier League, for West Bromwich Albion and Everton, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists and is the club’s ninth summer signing.
He is reunited with Sunderland manager David Moyes, who was in charge of Anichebe at Everton.
“He brought me through as a young player and was a big factor in me coming here,” Anichebe told safc.com about Moyes.
Coincidentally, Sunderland are next in Premier League action against Everton, on Monday 12 September.
