With the second Fantasy Premier League Wildcard available, The Scout reviews the top targets to consider for the chip.
Danny Ings (SOU) £5.6m
The striker has been a key figure for new Southampton head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Ings has three goals and 24 FPL points in his four appearances since the Austrian’s appointment in Gameweek 17.
Frustratingly for Hasenhuttl, Ings has been ruled out of the Gameweek 22 match with Leicester City.
But he is expected to return to face Everton in Gameweek 23, as Southampton embark on a kind run of opponents.
According to the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR), five of their six matches over Gameweeks 23-28 score no more than three.
Ings’ record suggests he can be a big-value target for FPL managers over that period.
He has produced seven goals and an assist in his 15 Gameweek appearances.
Indeed, when compared with forwards with at least five goals, his average of 152.7 minutes per goal is ranked fourth quickest.
At such a low cost, a fully fit Ings can offer excellent value for money as Hasenhuttl attempts to steer Southampton to safety.
