Tottenham Hotspur progressed to the quarter-finals of the Premier League International Cup but not without a scare as they edged Athletic Bilbao 5-4.
The home side built a two-goal lead at Stevenage through strikes by Vincent Janssen and Jack Roles, pictured above right and left.
But Athletic hit back with three unanswered goals from Asier Villalibre, Inigo Vicente and Victor San Bartolome to go ahead.
A second from Roles levelled the scores before substitute Shilow Tracey and Anthony Georgiou scored in the final 10 minutes to put Spurs 5-3 ahead.
Vicente struck back for Athletic but they could not find the equaliser which means Spurs top Group C on seven points ahead of Wolfsburg, Athletic and Norwich City.
Wolfsburg still might go through as one of the two best runners-ups but need other results to fall their way.
