Sheffield United ended their London hoodoo with a first win in the capital at the 20th attempt away to Crystal Palace.
It took a helping hand from Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, who carried Oliver Norwood's 58th-minute corner over his own line for the only goal.
Palace had edged possession prior to the goal with Luka Milivojevic firing over a half-volley and James McArthur's 25-yard effort held by Dean Henderson.
The match sprung into life after the break when Guaita caught Norwood's corner, only to drop the ball over the line.
Andy Madley then showed Joel Ward a straight red card for a foul on Enda Stevens, but downgraded it to a yellow after watching the incident again in the Review Referee Area on the advice of the VAR.
Sheffield United are fifth with 36 points. Palace drop to 13th on 30.
