    Toney strike keeps Brentford unbeaten

Brentford continued their unbeaten start in the Premier League with a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.

Ivan Toney opened the scoring for the Bees after seven minutes, firing in his first top-flight goal from close range after a neat flick from Pontus Jansson.

Villa soon hit back through Emiliano Buendia, who swivelled after collecting a Danny Ings pass before scoring from the edge of the penalty area.

Ethan Pinnock headed narrowly wide for the visiting side while Ollie Watkins almost claimed the win for Villa twice in stoppage time, but the former Brentford striker's header was saved by David Raya.

Brentford are ninth with five points, a point and two places above Villa.
