Jacob Ramsey and Ollie Watkins scored a goal in each half as Aston Villa moved into the top half of the table with a 2-0 win at Norwich City.
Villa started on the front foot against their former manager Dean Smith, with Watkins and John McGinn testing Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul in the opening 10 minutes.
That pressure eventually told when Ramsey broke the deadlock on 34 minutes, firing high into the net following a swift counter-attack.
Norwich almost hit back early in the second half, but Kenny McLean couldn't quite capitalise on an Ashley Young error.
Watkins doubled Villa's lead with three minutes remaining when he tapped home Carney Chukwuemeka's cross from close range.
Villa's win takes them to ninth on 22 points. Norwich stay bottom with 10 points.
