Fabinho's third goal in four matches handed Liverpool a fourth consecutive win as they beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor to maintain their challenge to league leaders Manchester City.
The goalkeepers were on top early on as Alisson was alert to keep out Josh Brownhill's swirling shot before the Brazilian then denied Jay Rodriguez from close-range.
Nick Pope then saved from the returning Sadio Mane before Liverpool went ahead four minutes before half-time.
Mane flicked on Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner and Fabinho pounced from close range to score at the second attempt.
Burnley pushed for an equaliser in the second half, with Ben Mee flashing a header wide, before Alisson saved again from Brownhill.
Roberto Firmino headed wide late on as Liverpool edged a spirited home side for a win which puts them on 54 points, nine points behind Man City and seven points clear of third-placed Chelsea.
Burnley's first defeat in four keeps them bottom with 14 points. They are seven points from safety with two matches in hand over Newcastle United in 17th.
