AFC Bournemouth came from behind to beat relegation rivals Burnley 2-1, earning their first victory of the season and Andoni Iraola's first ever in the Premier League.
The Cherries fell behind to a superb Charlie Taylor volley, but an equaliser from Antoine Semenyo and a stunning long-range strike from Philip took the hosts above Burnley and out of the bottom three.
After Bournemouth failed to clear a Burnley corner, the ball broke to Dara O’Shea, who headed it back to Taylor, and the left-back produced an excellent strike in the 11th minute for his first Premier League goal in his 140th appearance.
Bournemouth fought back though. Taylor went from hero to zero as he was dispossessed by Semenyo, who headed into the penalty area before firing in a low shot past James Trafford.
Bournemouth applied pressure on Burnley’s goal in the second half with a string of crosses and shots, but it took a moment of brilliance from Philip to give them the lead.
Burnley again gave the ball away to Philip in the middle of the pitch and, after he spotted Trafford off his line, the Cherries midfielder brilliantly lobbed him from over 40 yards out.
It was a goal that Philip thought to be possible as he revealed post-match that Trafford often stays off his line.
"We talked about it before the game, that he starts high," Philip said. "I intercepted the ball and I was going to play 'Tavs' (Marcus Tavernier) to be honest, he was shouting for it.
"But then I looked up quickly and saw him out [of his goal] and why not have a go? And luckily it went in."
There was a huge scare for Bournemouth though as Jay Rodriguez thought he had scored an equaliser in the closing stages of the match, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
Burnley then went close again in stoppage time from a corner but goalkeeper Andrei Radu, making his Premier League debut in place of the injured Neto, produced an excellent save to deny Sander Berge.
Bournemouth held on for a vital victory, climbing to 17th, while Vincent Kompany's Clarets drop to 19th with two fewer points.
