More than a quarter of a million Fantasy Premier League managers will be playing their Free Hit this Gameweek but FPL expert Lee Bonfield is recommending they use a different chip.

"I don’t think there’s a better time to play the Triple Captain chip," he says on the latest FPL Show.

Many managers wait for a Double Gameweek to use the Triple Captain chip but Bonfield says Liverpool’s trip to Fulham on Sunday means the stars are aligning for a different approach in Gameweek 31.

"I don’t think there’s a better time to play the Triple Captain chip than when you’ve got arguably the league’s best offence against unarguably the league’s worst defence in Fulham," he says before activating the chip and putting it on Mohamed Salah (£13.4m) later in the show.

"It’s going to be Mo Salah this week," he says. "Then I’m going to Free-Hit in Gameweek 32 so I can maximise my opportunities.

"There are some great teams playing then with Man Utd and probably Manchester City."

But wife and fellow expert Sam Bonfield disagrees, saying Gameweek 31 is all about the Free Hit.

"If Man City beat Swansea [in the FA Cup] this weekend they’ll have a lovely Double Gameweek in 32 where they’ll play Cardiff and Fulham," says Sam, who is placed among the top 13,000 in the world.

"So, for me, that’s too good an opportunity not to play my Triple Captain on a City player."
