Manchester City Academy Director Mark Allen has praised the club's Under-15 side after they triumphed in the Premier League International Tournament at Warwick University last weekend.
City came out on top in the three-day competition, which featured nine Category One teams including Swansea City, Newcastle United and Chelsea, as well as three international teams, Ajax, Dinamo Zagreb and Hertha Berlin.
They were unbeaten in the group stages before beating Arsenal in the semi-finals and then recording a 2-0 final victory over Swansea City, who had defeated Ajax in the last four, to lift the trophy.
"We have come up against a number of top-quality academies from this country but also to beat some of the best in Europe to the trophy is something to be proud of," Allen told mancity.com.
The tournament, which gave players the opportunity to test their skills against and learn from some of the best sides in Europe, also included knowledge-sharing sessions, with coaches taking part in presentations and Q&As to discuss coaching philosophies and best practice.
