Vincent Kompany was instrumental in Manchester City’s victory over Burnley on Sunday, according to Alan Shearer.
The 1-0 win at Turf Moor restored the reigning champions to the top of the Premier League table with two matches remaining and was built on a resilient display at the back.
Indeed Kompany has helped City keep two clean sheets in three Premier League matches since returning to the side as they seek to become the first club to retain the title in 10 seasons.
"It was a captain’s performance," said Shearer, who has included the Belgian in his Team of the Week. "He dealt superbly with the aerial onslaught from Burnley."
