Eden Hazard’s superb solo goal against West Ham United has won the Carling Goal of the Month award for April.
The Chelsea winger received the honour for the first of his two goals in the 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge on 8 April.
In the 24th minute, Hazard picked the ball up midway inside the West Ham half and drove at the Hammers defence before weaving past three players at pace and firing past Lukasz Fabianski.
The goal set Chelsea on the way to a third straight victory, which has helped the club to confirm a top-four finish.
Top strike
Hazard said the strike was among his best for the club.
"It’s in the top for sure," he said. "Especially because it was a derby as well, in front of the fans at Stamford Bridge."
Hazard’s goal was chosen as the winner by a panel of experts combined a public vote through the Carling website or the Carling Tap App, beating seven other contenders.
