Benfica opened their Premier League International Cup with a 2-0 win over Derby County at St George’s Park.
A goal in each half on Friday night from firstly Joao Carvalho then Heriberto Tavares gave the Portuguese side victory and put them level with Derby in Group A.
The next match in the group will be when Sunderland open their campaign at home to Benfica on 18 November.
