George Honeyman scored before the break to earn Sunderland a 1-1 draw with Reading in Division 1 at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground - a result which left both sides in mid-table.
Omar Richards pounced in the 12th minute to fire home a loose ball in the penalty area to put the Royals ahead, but Honeyman equalised from Joel Asoro's pass.
The result stretched Sunderland's winless run to four matches, and was their third consecutive draw, and left Reading without a victory in three.
