The Scout looks at players expected to progress and make a big impact in 2019/20 Fantasy Premier League.
Marcus Rashford (MUN) £8.5m
The 21-year-old could be a bargain pick in his first full season as a regular starter.
Rashford started only five of Manchester United's first 13 matches of last season under Jose Mourinho.
But the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager in Gameweek 18 transformed his FPL potential.
Focal point
Moved into a central role, forward Rashford scored seven of his 10 goals for the season under the Norwegian.
His underlying statistics show why.
Rashford recorded 66 shots from Gameweek 18 onwards, a total ranked third overall in FPL.
He also fares well when assessed against his previous displays under Mourinho.
The England international averaged a shot every 22.6 minutes with Solskjaer at the helm, more than twice as often as his 47.2 minutes beforehand.
Solskjaer effect on Rashford
2018/19 | GW1-17 | GW18-38 |
---|---|---|
Mins/shot | 47.2 | 22.6 |
Mins/shot in box | 85.0 | 38.3 |
Mins/shot on target | 85.0 | 51.4 |
Mins/goal | 283.3 | 213.1 |
Rashford's second half of the season could have been even stronger with better finishing.
He converted 16.7 per cent of his goalscoring opportunities under Mourinho but this dropped to 10.6 per cent for Solskjaer.
It meant that although he ended with a career-high season score of 128 points, Rashford's total ranked him as only the 16th best forward in the game.
As United's first-choice forward, he could be a bargain for FPL managers if he starts taking more of his chances.
An opening-weekend home match against Chelsea will provide him with a first opportunity to do so.
