1996: Manchester United 1-2 Chelsea
Chelsea recorded back-to-back victories for the second time in their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United.
Michael Duberry handed Chelsea the lead after 31 minutes and Gianluca Vialli doubled their advantage in the second half.
David May pulled a goal back for the home side with nine minutes remaining, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
The result meant the two sides switched league positions as Chelsea moved up to fifth with 22 points, while Man Utd dropped to sixth on 19 points.
1997: Everton 0-2 Southampton
Southampton beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park, after both teams had a mixed start to their seasons.
Matt Le Tissier and Kevin Davies scored Southampton's goals as they secured their first away victory of the campaign.
The result left Everton in 17th with 12 points, with only goal difference keeping them out of the bottom three. Victory helped Southampton move up to 16th on 13 points.
