2001: Middlesbrough 5-1 Derby County
Middlesbrough produced a fine second-half display to defeat Derby County.
Following a goalless first half, Carlos Marinelli struck twice for the home side, while Szilard Nemeth, Alen Boksic and Robbie Mustoe were also on the scoresheet.
Fabrizio Ravanelli, on his return to the Riverside, brought some respectability to the scoreline with a consolation goal late on.
Derby remained rooted to the bottom of the table with seven points, two points from safety. The victory for Middlesbrough moved them up to 13th on 14 points.
2002: Leeds United 0-1 Everton
Wayne Rooney came off the bench to give Everton their first league victory over Leeds United in 51 years.
Leeds were without a win in five league games and it was 17-year-old Rooney who made the difference with a low right-footed shot from just inside the penalty area.
The result moved Everton up to sixth with 20 points, while Leeds were 13th on 14 points.
