1992: Eric Cantona joins Manchester United
Signed from Leeds United, Eric Cantona moved to Manchester United and changed their fortunes.
Man Utd only lost two matches in his first season with the club, becoming Premier League champions as Cantona contributed nine goals in 22 appearances.
In doing so, the Frenchman became the first player to win consecutive top-flight titles with different clubs.
Cantona scored a total of 64 league goals for Man Utd, 11 in domestic cup competitions, and five in the Champions League, bringing his tally to 80 goals in less than five years.
2007: Steve Bruce appointed Wigan Athletic manager
Steve Bruce was appointed Wigan Athletic manager and helped them keep their Premier League status that season with a victory over Aston Villa in the penultimate match.
He guided the Latics to an 11th-place finish in the 2008/09 PL season before departing for Sunderland.
