Two goals in the second half earned Southampton their first points of the season with a win against 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton went a man down on 30 minutes when Florin Andone was sent off for a high foul on Yan Valery.

Southampton substitute Moussa Djenepo curled a fantastic goal beyond Mat Ryan on 55 minutes to put Southampton ahead.

Nathan Redmond sealed the victory in stoppage time when he finished off Sofiane Boufal’s cross.

It was a first defeat of the season for Brighton, who thought they had led in the first half but Lewis Dunk's header was ruled out for offside against Dan Burn.
