Hal Robson-Kanu scored a second-half double including a stoppage-time winner as West Bromwich Albion edged past Newcastle United 2-1 in Premier League 2 Division 2.
The Baggies included a number of senior players such as Chris Brunt and Ahmed Hegazi in their line-up, and the latter went close as he powered a header just over.
Robson-Kanu put the hosts ahead on 50 minutes when he slotted through the legs of Daniel Langley after a pass from Kyle Edwards.
Thomas Allan equalised for Newcastle three minutes later, converting a penalty after Jack Fitzwater was adjudged to have fouled Jack Young.
But West Brom claimed the points in stoppage time thanks to Robson-Kanu's drilled finish.
The Baggies' first win in three matches took them onto nine points, still in sixth place. Newcastle drop to 10th with six points.
