The University of Texas women’s soccer team enjoyed a special guest on Friday as Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, dropped by to talk to the players and coach.
Shearer scored a record 260 Premier League goals for Blackburn Rovers and hometown club Newcastle United, as well as winning the title with Rovers in 1994/95, and was in Austin ahead of Premier League Mornings Live at the weekend.
And he dropped by the university to give a talk to the coach and players of the women’s soccer team as well as answer questions and give his insight as a former player and coach.
“What a lovely experience to spend my afternoon with such a LEGEND in the game! Master of Finishing, Great Leader and Wonderful Man!” said head coach Ange Kelly on Twitter.
