Blackburn Rovers moved joint-top of Premier League Cup Group B with a goalless draw against Cardiff City at Leickwith Athletics Stadium.

The 2014/15 PL Cup finalists went closest when Scott Wharton headed straight at Cardiff goalkeeper O’Reilly from six yards out in the first half, but there were few chances after the break.

The point leaves Blackburn level with Sunderland on four points at the top of the group, with each of the four teams playing the opposing side home and away in the group.

Cardiff are bottom of the group with two points from three matches.
