Charlton Athletic registered their first victory in the Premier League Cup with a 3-1 win over Fulham at the DGS Marine Stadium on Monday night.

Josh Umerah scored a goal in each half, and Joe Aribo was also on target as the Addicks raced into a three-goal lead inside 48 minutes.

Fulham pulled a goal back through Cauley Woodrow’s penalty but Charlton held on to move a point above their opponents, to second place in Group F, two points behind leaders Middlesbrough.

Charlton next play in the competition when they travel to AFC Wimbledon on 23 January, on the same day Fulham face Boro.

Each team plays every opposing side home and away in the group.
